Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any experience to start?

No experience is required! We welcome complete beginners and will teach you everything from basic stances to advanced techniques. Our instructors are skilled at working with students of all levels.

What should I wear to my first class?

For your first class, wear comfortable workout clothes that allow for movement - a t-shirt and athletic pants or shorts work well. We train barefoot, so no special footwear is needed. Once you decide to continue, we'll help you get a proper gi (karate uniform).

What age groups do you accept?

We accept students from age 6 and up, including adults of all ages. We have programs specifically designed for children, teens, and adults.

How long does it take to earn a black belt?

The journey to black belt typically takes 4-6 years with consistent training. However, we focus on personal growth and mastery rather than rushing through ranks. Every student progresses at their own pace.

Is karate safe for children?

Yes! We emphasize control, respect, and proper technique. Children learn discipline, confidence, and physical fitness in a safe, supervised environment. Contact is minimal and always controlled.

What makes Goju-Ryu different from other karate styles?

Goju-Ryu combines hard and soft techniques, emphasizing both external strength and internal energy. It includes close-range fighting, breathing exercises, and traditional Okinawan methods passed down through generations.
